About Plug Type World

← Compatibility tool

Plug Type World exists to answer one question fast: will your device work in another country? We help travelers, expats, students, and international buyers check plug compatibility, voltage, and frequency between any two countries — in seconds, without wading through long articles.

Why we built it

Electrical standards are one of travel's most fragmented problems: 15 plug types, voltages from 100V to 240V, and two frequencies, spread unevenly across every country and territory in the world. The answer to "do I need an adapter?" is always simple — but finding it rarely is. Plug Type World was built to make that answer instant, visual, and reliable.

How we keep it accurate

Our compatibility data covers plug types, voltage, and frequency for countries and territories worldwide, compiled from international electrical standards and reviewed on an ongoing basis. Every country guide shows the same core facts in the same structure, so you always know where to look. When standards change, we update the data — the site is a living reference, not a static article.

Who is behind it

Plug Type World is built, owned, and operated by Albor Digital LLC, an independent product studio registered in the United States. We're a small, product-first team: no outsourced content, no third-party operators — the people who built this tool are the ones who maintain it and answer to its users.

Questions, corrections, or suggestions? — reports from travelers on the ground are one of the ways this reference stays sharp.
